This isn’t your average Marvel team-up! Can Dr. Doom and Bucky Barnes stop an attack on the United Nations and prevent World War 3? Meanwhile, Black Widow does some digging and discovers another layer to von Bardas’s plan...

This Review is Spoiler Free

“If von Doom has a stealth mode, he doesn’t show it.”

With von Bardas’s plan seemingly revealed, Bucky must now convince an angry Dr. Doom to assist him in preventing an attack on the United Nations! Barely arriving on time, they intercept Dr. Doombot and Arkady, one of the test subjects from the Zephyr Project. Our heroes (if you can call Doom that) engage in a visually spectacular battle of dark magic, bulletstorms and vicious hand-to-hand fighting. However, what Bucky discovers may mean their work is just beginning.

Meanwhile, Natasha is hot on the trail of the Red Ghost, but it may be too late as von Bardas reveals one final trick up her sleeve.

Art - 4.5 out of 5

The art team has seemingly hit their maximum stride with this issue. Everything flows together nicely and we get some astonishing fight scenes. Very little to complain about here. Great work all around!

Story - 4.5 out of 5

This issue feels much more Bucky-centric and really does a great job developing his chemistry with Dr. Doom. Dr. Doombot’s dialogue continues to have a hint of satire, possessing a slightly exaggerated tone reminiscent of Dr. Doom’s own personality. And just when you thought Bucky’s about to blow von Bardas’s plans sky-high, Brubaker throws us another curve ball.

Cover - 4.5 out of 5

Cool guys don’t look at explosions. We get a great action shot of Bucky running towards us from a massive explosion. It perfectly captures a very action movie style, even having Bucky give us a thumbs up from flicking the pin off his grenade. Great stuff, I’m really enjoying Lee Bermejo’s cover work on this series so far.
